What goes into each Order

Hello all,

As I was working on orders, I got to thinking that maybe  it would be a nice thing for everyone to know what goes into each order I do. I know when I started I thought of the glamorous job it was to sell makeup…and quickly found out it’s not as glamorous as I thought, although it is rewarding.  It is also hard work and though not physically demanding, it is time consuming.

So let’s take you through the steps I use to do an order.
First, once the order is made, I verify payment. I have had many orders that never get paid for. That is why I came up with the policy that if it’s not paid for the customer has 5 days to contact me. If I do not hear from the customer, I then cancel the order. Once I know the order has been paid for, I print it out and begin. Depending on how any other orders I have it goes into a pile so that I can get to it in the order it was received.
The nice part is if I have the products in their containers and ready to go I can grab and send. Full sized foundations, pixie foundation and elf foundations have to be put in their jars at this point. Eventually I am hoping to work out a system so they are made up also, so they are a grab and ship. If it’s a sample, I try to have those made up, but there are times,(recently a lot of them since I haven’t had time to restock from the big sale) that I have to make up what’s needed. To make up the products can take up to a whole day depending on how many there are to be made. And I will be honest, I like to do all my mixing at one time. I usually get very sparkly, and colorful while mixing. Graceful and neat I am not!!!
I have a secondary check system in place but to be honest it’s not full proof. Mistakes can still happen, so if that happens, please never hesitate to contact me. I want to know about these.

If you have a small order it will take me less time to get it done. I have seen some large orders take me up to 2 days.
Occasionally I do have help in the form of my son’s girlfriend or my daughter. But that isn’t the ideal help…both are young and aren’t as anal about things as I am. I try very hard to check behind them, but again, sometimes depending what I am doing this could take a bit for me to get to, which again will slow down a package.
At the end of Sept. I have a good friend moving from Tennessee to PA. She has a background in cosmetology, but will be learning alot about natural minerals. I will be spending a lot of time teaching her and she is going to help me in the shop..which is a dream come true.
This should speed up shipping, plus will help with keeping products in stock so they don’t have to be made up during an order.
Plus it will create the time for me to start introducing new products that I have in mind but haven’t had the time to get made.

And please if anyone ever has a question about your order never hesitate to ask me.
I try to be on top of all emails and they are never a problem….

Thanks,

Ellie
